Digestion efficiency was evaluated by determination of RCC, expressed as the relationship between the total dissolved organic carbonin final solutions and the total organic carbon (TOC) presented in theoriginal sample.The TOC in the original samples (in natura) were determined using an elemental analyzer (Model 2400 Series II CHNS/O,PerkinElmer, USA) equipped with a thermal conductivity detector.Determination of dissolved organic carbon was carried out using amulti N/C 2100S (Analytik Jena, Germany) equipped with an autosampler AS60.The sample was combusted at about 850 °C, and aninfrared detector was used for detection of CO2.In order to removevolatile carbon compounds before organic carbon determination, solutions were first acidified with 0.01 mol L-1 HCl and purged withoxygen for 3 min.如何
